Please note that Cream and Sugar is now closed and only operates as a caterer as of March 2016.

Indeed it is! We have been meaning to tell you all about Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Cafe in Lockport, NY for a LONG TIME. As Niagara County born & bred, we venture to Lockport and Newfane often to see family and friends. Last summer, we got wind of a NEW place opening on East Ave. in the LP and felt nervous and excited- this was a risky business to start ‘up north’. During its first days of opening, one lovebird popped in and instantly was wowed by the decor, owners, and smoothly blended dirty chai. Now, still not even one year old, Cream & Sugar has sweetened its menu, look, and customer base- and we couldn’t be happier to see these guys thriving.

Meet Jessica & Jason Dittly- the husband and wife team who own & operate Cream & Sugar. They mean business when they say they want  as many things possible to be local and homemade. From their sundae toppings to their adorable chalk designs, this team has created a unique pocket in the Lockport area. Upon entering Cream & Sugar, you are greeted with a smile and informed that if you have any questions, just ask. Their menus are displayed on restored frames and they can tell you all about how each ingredient is made. They love creating new desserts and experiment constantly to invent new creations. Using as many local products as possible, everything is fresh on spot- and if they cannot find exactly what they want to serve you, they research & research until they find the perfect products to use. You can feel how dedicated they are to establishing quality- and they’re proud to tell you all about it.

Cream & Sugar has become the go-to stop for early morning workers, such as teachers, lawyers, and other restaurant owners. It is kid-friendly, boasts outdoor umbrella seating, and is perfect for a date (we say so). Hands down it is the best place in the Niagara County area to grab a light and delicious lunch. We have to admit, we are a little jealous that they are not near us in downtown Buffalo- second shop, guys?? Anyone, anyone? Across from the Hotel Lafayette? Takers?

The best way to scope out Cream & Sugar is to follow their Facebook page: Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Cafe. Daily updates are posted with colorful, enticing photos…along with mini-stories behind the dishes- a great way to inform customers about what they’re going to devour. Proudly serving Gimme! coffee, Perry’s ice cream, and now whipping up fresh juices, Cream & Sugar brought East Ave. to a whole other level. We cannot think of a more deserving place to visit when you venture ‘up north’.

So when you think there is ‘nothing to do’ past upper Transit, think again. Jason & Jess have created a beautiful, fun cafe for you to enjoy- not only made with cream and sugar…but heart and soul.
