The great thing about WNY is that you have several areas to choose from in order to feed your inner shopper and foodie. A common lovebird area is Niagara Falls Boulevard, Tonawanda. A whopping 15-20 minutes from downtown Buffalo, you find yourself on a congested road filled with honking horns, people who don’t use turn signals, and all the amenities you need. It’s perfect! We try to stay clear of chain restaurants- simply due to the fact that the wait is crazy- ain’t nobody got time for that! Fortunately, there are numerous local places on NF Blvd. and one of them happens to be our go-to pizza favorite: Pi Craft.

The first time we stopped at Pi Craft was during its first few weeks of business in the winter of late 2013. With all seriousness, one lovebird exclaimed, ‘Holy! Fast FRIED pizza!!?? Awesome!!!’. That’s F-I-R-E-D, silly. According to the staff, he wasn’t the first to misread. He was cool with it being fired, as well. Several more times thereafter, we found ourselves heading back to Pi Craft for a fun, quick meal- away from the crowds. Located perfectly at the corners of the NF Blvd. 290 exit, Pi Craft feels like a Chipotle-like set up where you can choose from the menu (or build your own). They also have chopped salads, focaccia sandwiches, gluten free options, and you can order half of a pizza (so you don’t scarf down a whole one- cause that is easy to do). **note: if you dig Crust Pizza Bar on Allen in Buffalo, this place is for you.
Dishing up hefty pizzas, loaded with toppings, their crust has something about it…warm, delicious, and holds up all that weight of sauce and goodies. You can watch your fast fired pizza happen right before your eyes and customize it any way you want. After it rolls through the 700 degree brick conveyor oven, there is an array of choices for remaining toppings and flavorful sauces. Served to you on circular pan tins, you can gobble this up in no time and feel full and satisfied. Box to-go if you need a snack later. This is the perfect spot for lunch within this area or a quick bite if you are not feeling up for an evening out. And, hey, they have what every Buffalonian loves: a little outdoor patio.
The servers have always been very friendly and the first time we went, we were impressed by a guy named Adam who worked the room of happy customers. So next time you want to fill a pizza craving, get fed up with NF Blvd. traffic, or want to try a new place- swing by Pi Craft and see what everyone is talking about. Now to get a location downtown….
