Downtown Lunch Date: Vito’s **PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF 2016

UPDATE: RIP, Vito’s. Delaware North closed this up in 2016.

Since we both work downtown and walk from home, it’s quite often we meet up for lunch together. Yesterday, a fast phone call from the guy led to an impromptu lunch date 10 minutes later. The spot? Vito’s inside the Key Center.

A first for us, we knew it was a hotspot due to its locale and others’ praise over their market bowls. We entered by Fountain Plaza (still major construction here!) and found Vito’s bustling. Business people, elderly friends, casual lunchers…the flow of people in and out was rapid and steady.

We checked out a Market Bowl (meatball and orzo) and a Lucky Luciano sandwich (capicola, salami, etc.) then grabbed a table by the windows which overlook Fountain Plaza and the Buffalo Savings Bank (M&T).

  Market Bowl

Complete with sandwiches, wraps, creat-your-own bowl, soups, a salad bar, and coffee- Vito’s is our new favorite downtown destination for lunch. Make sure you pop in!
