Taylor Swift At Lambeau Field To Cheer On Travis Kelce in Chiefs-Packers Game

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, or hail would keep Taylor Swift from seeing Travis Kelce play on Sunday evening. An advisory issued for northeast Wisconsin promised “heavy to moderate wet snow” through the scheduled kickoff time for the Green Bay Packers matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs that night, a game to be played at the open-air Lambeau Field. Temperatures in the stadium will range between 28 and 31 degrees, Sports Illustrated notes, with a windchill that makes it feel far colder. Given that, one can see why Grammy-winning Packers superfan Lil Wayne disputed Packers’ coach Matt LaFleur’s claims that Taylor Swift would attend tonight’s game in support of boyfriend/Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “It’s too cold out there for Taylor Swift, she’s not coming,” the “Green and Yellow,” told FOX Sports show Undisputed. But he was wrong.

Sure, Swift spent her formative years in balmy Nashville, Tennessee, but spent her earliest years in Pennsylvania. Famously raised on a Christmas tree farm, she’s surely faced inclement weather before. Even folks like ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington wondered if the chill would keep Swift away, noting that Green Bay police were prepared for Swift at Lambeau…” weather permitting.”

And weather did, indeed, permit. Instagram account Taylor Swift’s Jets offered provisional confirmation that she’s made the trip Sunday, showing her departing Kansas City on one of her planes and touching down in Green Bay shortly after that.. Joining Swift on the flight was Brittany Mahomes, whose quarterback husband, Patrick, also plays for the Chiefs, the Daily Mail reports.

Clad in a long red coat, the singer strode into Lambeau at around 6:10 p.m. Green Bay time, an entrance tweeted by Yahoo Sports. Sunday Night Football caught Swift a few minutes later from a perch high in the stadium, seemingly using her phone to capture footage of the briskly falling snow.

Swift’s presence is bad news for Lil Wayne, as well as other Packers fans who’d hoped their team—already viewed as the underdog—might triumph against the Chiefs. Kelce’s work on the field shows marked improvement when Swift is in the stands, a situation even the tight end has acknowledged. That said, Swift has only attended four games so far—most recently, on October 22—and the Chiefs’ record this season is 8-3, so she’s hardly the only factor.

But according to Undisputed host Skip Bayless, to whom Lil Wayne made his Swiftless prediction, her presence at Lambeau might make all the difference. Without Swift in the stands, “You’ve got a chance,” the commentator said of the 5-6 Packers. But with Swift in the stands, it might be a very, very cold night in Green Bay.
